We are Americans Dammit…. Knock it off

Is it me, or over these past two weeks have we watched our country descend from a global powerhouse into some French suburb, where we just surrender everything we hold dear as a country to government appointed “Experts”? What the hell happened and when did the nation suddenly resign itself to shut down schools, professional sports leagues, concerts, plays, gyms, dining out and anything that remotely resembles fun, because of a virus? A virus that has right now about only 180 thousand cases WORLDWIDE? Not in the United States but WORLDWIDE! That number alone should have everyone with an ounce of rationality asking serious questions about what is really going on here. There is no point in recorded human history of this type of action being taken over what “MIGHT HAPPEN” or as a reaction to some half-baked doomsday scenario cooked up in the basement over at the Democratic National Committee or some government agency.  Yes, I know, I know, I am a denier, I am a conspiracy theorist and I am not sensitive to what is happening. I am all those things, but before conclusions are drawn on me and my opinion why don’t we take a complete walk through the landscape and see if the landmines we are being told exist in the field are really there. What I believe is these advertised landmines are really small firecrackers being lit off in a tube to make them sound worse than they are.

China

              So, our first step into the field is directly into the heart of where all this came from, China, (or as President Trump says “Chyyna”). About three weeks ago panic bells started going off about this strange disease out there called the “Coronavirus” or as the cool, and really wannabe smart people on the news keep calling this: “COVID-19”. (The more of an outer space name provided to this, the more sinister it can be presented as).  But it didn’t really work at first because so many people remember hearing about the Coronavirus and, sure enough, one look at the side of a Lysol disinfectant can clearly showed it was a product effective in combating the virus. It doesn’t say only a specific strain, but simply the “Coronavirus”. Pictures of the cans showing the uses, started popping up all over social media. This begged the question from numerous people of just what is this ramped up fear all about? We have seen this virus countless times… (More on this in a moment).  So now back to China and the launch of the widespread fear. Images were being beamed into peoples living rooms of Chinese officials all decked out in Hazmat suits and the population of this one area in Wuhan, walking around with face-masks on. As the days went on, we saw more and more of them, with the media presenting a gloomy picture of an epidemic on the rise. I recall seeing coroner vans and bodies being loaded in. It really was troubling to see as the narrative was shaping that this was going to consume the area. Mass casualties were sure to be on the horizon. How could they not in a country with a population of about 1.4 billion people? Real conspiracy theories emerged shortly after that the Chinese Government had weaponized the virus in this area and somehow it made its way into the general population. We all heard this, and we had strong concerns. The Chinese themselves went into overdrive spraying the streets with numerous substances and people were quarantined and told to shelter indoors. Will we ever find out what happened or the genesis of this? Most likely never. Right now, that is not important, rather what is important is why are we where we are? Who fanned the flames and why?

              As of the time I am writing this China had 80,880 cases. That is all. Only 3,212 people died from this, mostly elderly over 65. The statistics under that age are miniscule by comparison. Over 70,000 have recovered, about 6800 remain active.  Just yesterday, China announced they have lifted their travel rules in Wuhan. (Reported by Sky News). So, with all this talk of pandemics and end of days scenarios we must take a pregnant pause and just reread those numbers one more time, I will wait. So now that you see the host country of this never even cracked 100,000 cases, ask yourself why we are all supposed to suspend all rational thought, and envision an apocalyptic scenario where everyone else but China (And Italy, discussed next) are going to void out all rules of statistical probabilities and reach deaths foretold in the book of Revelation. The four horsemen should be saddling up soon if we buy into this. The US media started to run prime time stories about this with dire predictions. These same people also decided that it could no longer be called the Wuhan flu because that was “Xenophobic” and “Racist” Even though the emanation of this virus was traced directly back to this province, the speech police assigned their racism card to it so as to halt all discussions about its origin. (I assume it is also racist to call Lyme disease Lyme, since it originated in Lyme, Connecticut?) The media were successful in shedding the real name of the flu and would only broadcast this as a “potential global pandemic”.

Italy

              With the real small numbers of this in mind, we now step into Italy where the media sought to assign this as a new “European Problem”. What better way to get the attention of Americans then to tag the virus to their ancestral cousins in Europe?  At first glance it seems alarming. Two countries, that share nothing in common, now infected with this mystery disease. Most certainly the prospect of this popping up here should sound the alarm. The part of the story being left out however has two key facts omitted from the reporting. The first fact is Italy, unfortunately sold their economic soul to China when they allowed many of their shoe and belt companies (Who makes better leather goods than Italy?) to be sold to China. Once acquired, the Chinese inserted their own people into the factories. Chinese workers were provided unrestricted access to and from Italy. Now here is the worst part of this. Those workers came from the Wuhan Province of China. Even after the discovery of the virus Italy didn’t restrict their travel. (Trump did) They were afraid of insulting their new sugar daddies. The second problem is Italy has a tremendous elderly population and this disease disproportionally affects that aspect of society. Over 20 percent of Italy is over 65, hence the problem. So what was portrayed as something spreading in random places actually turns out to have a strongly married connection. As is the case with China, the result is still an astoundingly low number of only 27,980 cases with about 1800 fatal.

The Podium Posers

              With all the confusion and pandemonium underway, nothing conveys calm like the sight of some elected official with a cast of “hanger oners” and local hacks showing up on a dais somewhere, multiple times a day, telling you what the government is going to do to save your life! I am reminded of the famous Ronald Reagan quote when he said: “The most terrifying words in the English Language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help”. What exactly is the point of these ad nauseam conferences from all levels of government? The only takeaways I see here on Long Island are that we have too many damn elected officials. Various levels all telling us to “Wash Your Hands, Practice good hygiene, don’t shake hands etc.…”  I mean I don’t know about you, but I never would have arrived at these ideas on my own. What people are missing though is each one of these is slowly moving towards suspension of the basic right to live your life. We went from silly lessons on hygiene to the cancellation of all professional sporting events. From there we graduated to the ever-lovable Governor Cuomo calling out the National Guard into New Rochelle, NY.  Honestly what the hell is the National Guard going to do? Are they going to make sure no one escapes from sector 7 with an illegal drive down the Hutchinson Parkway? Do they have standing orders to shoot to kill if that occurs?  I personally think Cuomo thought the country was ready for his style of totalitarian tactics. He just got excited about what was coming and acted hastily. He then settled in on smaller milestones such as cancelling the St Patrick’s Day Parade. A parade never cancelled in 250 years. But El Supremo cushioned the blow in a press conference, where he mocked a woman Irish Reporter, by explaining his absolute power with a mocking Irish brogue. As though that move would endear him with us simple Irish…Bless his heart as the southern folk would say.  The best part, short of invoking the National Guard, is just yesterday, several governors imposed bans on restaurants being opened for service (takeout only), forced the closure of bars, banned gyms from being opened and even imposed curfews. (I heard the Corona-virus only comes out at night. (Stop singing Maneater by Hall and Oates and focus).

What you should notice about all this, is the progression of your liberties being stripped away week by week. What do they have for their next act? Is a new tax coming to redistribute money to the same people they are driving out of work? Perhaps no driving at all so all the roads stay open just in case the virus actually shows up?   I think we as a society need to wake up to what is going on here. These podium posers have no skills, no talents, no fear of lost wages and do not give a damn about anyone else but their careers. (The President excluded)

The Argument Framers

              There is an old saying: “He who controls the argument, wins the argument”.  You will notice that no matter how often you point to the obvious comparisons to the H1N1 (Swine) flu, which had over 60 million infected, 275 thousand hospitalized  and over 12 thousand deaths in the United States, you are told by people that “There is no comparison”. Well they are right…there is no comparison because the Swine Flu was astronomically higher in all categories, and then President Obama had no National strategy for over 6 months when over 1000 people had died. The difference is the national and global media never showed up at hospitals to show the aftermath, nor were the “podium posers” making cameo appearances anywhere.  (And to not be taken out of context, there should not have been any massive media coverage nor suspension of basic life events). What I am saying is that the jerks hoping for this to be “Trump’s Katrina” (Yes actually said on MSNBC last week) do not want real comparisons, so all they do is tell you that you cannot make the comparison.

I can make the comparison and I will, every day until it sinks in that we are in the middle of the biggest con of our lifetimes. We are shutting down all aspects of life on a fear of “what might happen”. We are all sitting around waiting from the central planners to issue a proclamation that they deem it safe to return to life. What the hell happened to “Give me Liberty or Give me Death” or “All we have to fear is fear itself”? What happened to the post 9/11 world where we were told to go about our lives as normal as possible? We all knew terror could strike any airline at any time, yet we boarded planes and moved on. (One plane destroyed on 9/11 had more victims than this virus in this entire country).  Keep in mind that the media and the other elite opinion makers have a vested interest in keeping the panic alive and running. From the gang who brought you the Russian collusion hoax, the Ukrainian hit and the impeachment lie, are any of us really shocked they are trying to control the narrative and keep this is a political and carnival atmosphere? Shocked they are trying their best to park this calamity at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?

              Our nation has allowed themselves to be gripped by fear and panic. The country has once again allowed the media to go unchallenged with this pandemic end of days message, while the basic events of life are now being taken away by state and local hacks looking to solidify power. Will no one in any branch of government call this out for what it is? This is not who we are as Americans. We should be a people telling these merchants of despair to knock it off and end this perpetual fear mongering. I have been pretty vocal this last week to the point that one friend messaged me “I am worried for you”. Part humor, yet part sincere, and fully appreciated. I just believe I am saying what many are feeling and thinking. When supermarkets are stripped of all items, like we are living in Venezuela, and when local leaders are telling me when they will okay my next trip to the gym, movies, dinner or a game…I have a huge problem with that. When Americans accept that a foreign country like China makes 80 percent of all our drug components and medical supplies, I have a problem with that as well. When I watched for 3 and half years a media try to take down a sitting President, in concert with the Democratic Party, I start to connect the dots that there is something sinister going on here for a death toll that is south of 100. Ron Paul summed this up last weekend when he said “ It is Ironic to see the same Democrats who tried to impeach President Trump for abuse of power now demanding that the Administration grab more power and authority in the name of fighting a virus that has killed less than 100 people”. Comrade deBlasio has called for the “Nationalization of all necessary industries” during this.  It is time to wake up and see what is at play here. The numbers do not match the action and we all know it. For instance, 90 people a day die in car accidents. Should we suspend driving until it gets to 0? Play the game for 2 weeks but after that start insisting on taking back your lives. We are allowing ourselves to surrender and there is nothing more Un-American than that…
