Let's Speak the Truth

THE SUPREME COURT vs The Supreme Court of the United States

I sent out a quick update yesterday to “Carolan’s Corner” with a link to a video about the new movement underway from self-identified liberals called #WalkAway. I have to be honest in that it caught me by surprise, because up until my friend sent me that video, I didn’t believe any liberal had it in them to honestly critique the current state of the Democratic Party. I didn’t think they were capable of seeing just how intolerant that party had become towards anyone who thought differently than they did, adhered to a religious faith or had defined moral convictions. So for anyone who viewed it (you still can as it is the post before this one) I think you were, or will be, pleasantly surprised to hear people starting to push back on the atheistic, socialistic and fascist stranglehold on their party. Perhaps we will start to see these folks embrace the same inner dialogue Ronald Reagan had with himself 50 years ago when he himself struggled with the direction of the same party (when the Democratic party was flirting with communist tendencies (still is)). He famously said “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me”.

I am mentioning the above because after I sent the update to my site I received quite a few Instant messages asking me what in the world I meant by “THE SUPREME COURT vs The Supreme Court of the Unites States”. I told them to just tune in tomorrow (today) and I will explain my point of view around what is happening now with the new vacancy to the Supreme Court by the expected retirement of Judge Anthony Kennedy. Last week the left in this country received the worst news they have had since the election of President Trump. The man they had relied on to often rule in their favor on liberal social issues had decided to pack it in and leave the decision of his replacement to their nemesis President Trump. To the left we are now at the crossroads of Armageddon and the point of no return. In their collective thinking it is their belief that if a conservative takes the seat, the United States will forever cease to exist. If you simply listen to the rhetoric coming out of their camp, as well as out of the camp of the WASPy establishment Republicans, they are ready to take this battle to levels the country has never seen before to impose their will and failed ideology on the nation. (I will explain the 1 issue they care the most in a moment that is their “Holy Grail”)

So now in regards to THE SUPREME COURT vs The Supreme Court of the Unites States one needs to understand how the left views our government. Sure they will parrot the old “three separate but equal branches of government” line and wrap themselves in the flag, however something very sinister lies beneath their public facade. They do not believe this for a moment nor do they accept it. The society that they want is very similar to that of a communist government. A government where a central state gets to dictate to the people, who they view as unsophisticated and simpletons (that’s all of us folks, also known as “Deplorables”). A government where everything from commerce to thought is controlled by a Godless ideology, where there are no absolute truths, no commonly accepted morality and no free thought to dissent. To them anyone who holds contrary views to these ideas is their enemy. They are openly hostile towards any religion that has unwavering beliefs. The Catholic faith is the most threatening to them. (Just watch the benediction by Cardinal Dolan at the Democratic convention in 2016 where the hall booed him and his mention of God). The problem for them is their ideas often fail immediately, or in due time, so the legislative branch is not their friend because they lose elections repeatedly once the effects of their legislation takes hold. (Obama-care destroyed their short lived majority). Their legislative accomplishments are quickly reversed and they have to start over again trying to convince everyone that they know better for them. The Presidency is more of a hope to them because what they can’t accomplish legislatively, they rely on Executive orders to implement for 4 year intervals. From federal land grabs, to immigration overrides of the Congress to the various cabinet appointments over all segments of society they can wreak such chaos and havoc for as long as they hold the presidency. Again the problem is that elections do indeed have consequences and once a Republican takes over, their influence goes out like the tide. Their only hope at sustaining their counter societal revolution is to stack the Supreme Court with 5 liberal justices who will rubber stamp their schemes of social engineering. If they can simply have some 40 to 50 year olds appointed there is no stopping them for close to 30 years. When is the last time any of us ever saw the Congress of the United States override the Supreme Court with corrective legislation? When is the last time we saw a Supreme Court Justice impeached for flagrant violations of constitutional law? Breyer and all three women on the court are candidates for impeachment. Breyer, Ginsburg, Sotomayor and Kagan are four intellectual Pygmies who are judicial activists. They have no regard for the constitution and are there to advance an agenda. So to the left the Supreme Court is the SUPREME COURT in that they believe it is Supreme to all branches of government. To us on the right we believe it is the Supreme Court, in that it is 1/3 of our national government that needs to be checked and is only supreme to other courts. The left is now in full attack mode and using this idea of the court to actually impose the Supremacy of it above all things.

Now with all that said there is one issue that the Left is ready to burn the Republic to the ground over and that issue is Abortion. They see abortion as some sort of sacrament that empowers women in their battle for equality. They know that Roe vs Wade is now living out its final days in hospice and are making unrealistic demands that the President appoint another cowardly jurist to the court, so they can continue their cultural wars on the nation. If ever there was a decision that was so out of the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court it was the Roe decision. A decision that basically took an entire class of human beings and said they have no fundamental right to life (even though the Constitution clearly states a right to life exists) and that they can be murdered in the womb for pretty much any reason throughout any stage of pregnancy. A decision that was decided based on the situation of Jane Roe, aka Norma McCorvey. A woman who actually gave birth to the child and put that child up for adoption,  BEFORE Roe was even decided (Which meant it should have been discharged from the court). A child that McCorvey spent her entire adult life trying to find even though she sought approval to kill the child. Just think of the irony of this!

When I was in undergrad I was asked to go as part of the debate team to listen to her speak. My professor at the time told me, “Listen Carolan; I know you want to go there and take them all on, but please don’t cause a scene”.   Well I went and I caused a huge scene when I simply stood up and asked her if it were true that she was looking for that child who was still alive (The audience had no idea of either fact). I was cursed at, spit at and had a chair thrown at me. Her Planned Parenthood attorney, seeking damage control, screamed off the stage at me “F**K YOU, you’re a man! The crowd continued to come after me to the point I needed security to come get me out of the auditorium. I remember an old security guard came up to me once I was out of there, winked at me and he said; “Son that was a thing of beauty because in my day we fought enemies who threatened lives around the globe, we didn’t fight to wipe out the most precious gift God ever gave us, the gift of children…I’m proud of you for standing up the way you did” and he shook my hand with a huge smile. His words are always with me and it made that entire ugly episode worth it all. (By the way Norma McCorvey converted to Catholicism and spent the remainder of her life seeking to overturn that dreadful decision…who says God doesn’t work miracles?)

Over the coming days you will hear these same people scream about “Stare decisis” or the legal principle of determining points in litigation according to precedent. They would have you believe that all prior Supreme Court decisions are settled law and shouldn’t be reversed. Hey I wonder if they felt Dred Scott should have been left in place that said the Federal government can’t get involved in slavery and that Black folks aren’t citizens. Should “Stare decisis” have been respected there? Should Plessy vs Ferguson also be respected as “Stare decisis” and have kept segregation in place?   Of course not. The entire argument of settled law is canard. When you hear Senator Susan Collins of Maine speak of this just know what she is totally flying by the seat of her pants. The argument is a straw man in a field on fire. If a law is morally wrong than it needs to be reversed and overturned.   If President Trump appoints Judge Amy Coney Barrett, this phrase will be used Ad nauseam to try and impeach her because she is a devout Catholic, with 7 children and who sees children as the gifts they are. An accomplished lawyer and professor at Notre Dame she will be turned into the modern day Clarence Thomas. Expect lies and personal character attacks on her (or whoever is appointed that is conservative). People who don’t know her will come out of the woodwork seeking to defame her. She will experience Judas like betrayals and it will all be done by the left to try and protect their last bastion of hope. (It’s a shame they don’t respect the decision of the American people in elections in the way they expect Supreme Court decisions to live on.) Buckle up because the SUPREME COURT battle is about to become unlike anything we have ever seen in our lifetimes. A battle for the soul of the nation. Thank God we finally hold the cards; our representatives just need to will to stand firm and restore it back to simply;  the Supreme Court.

  • Well done! You keep us informed and I and others will continue to pray. For sure the devil is going to try to destroy the efforts of the Right. Some of us are starting to pray to St. Michael the Archangel. Abortion, always is the topic that drives the left insane. If only, the Catholic Church would tell the people to “pray” for President Trump. God knows, he needs our support. I think we are in for a wild ride. I feel Dad, Mom, Matt and Jack are cheering us on.
