Lies, Deceit and Coordinated Chaos
December 27, 2018
In the summer of 1962 the Cuban government had tried to pull off an illusion that they were fortifying their homeland in response to the failed American invasion in 1961, better known as the “Bay of Pigs”. An invasion so poorly planned out, from missed rendezvous points because the CIA and the Pentagon were unaware of a time zone difference between Nicaragua and Cuba to betrayal within the Cuban exiles, tipping off Castro as to the every move of the Americans. The Cubans publicly stated they feared that the Kennedys didn’t like to lose and were preparing for another invasion, but this time well-coordinated. It was a quite believable story that the public was able to buy. However those who were in the business of verifying all things taking place, found the sudden fortification of bases as well as the construction of new ones, suspect. They decided to look into the facts more closely. In September of that same year a CIA consultant noticed one thing that most people had overlooked. When looking at the overhead U2 spy plane reconnaissance flight photos, he spotted soccer fields being built on several of these bases. To the average person one would simply say “So what?”. To the analyst he rightfully noted that Cubans play baseball and not soccer, however Russians play soccer and these bases being either re-purposed or newly built, were being done so to accommodate newly placed Russian bases for soldiers and weapons right on our doorstep. This small detail tipped off our country to the immediate threat being developed in our own hemisphere and began the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was a great lesson to our country that all is not what it seems to be. Question what you see even if it seems legitimate.
Now I tell this story to highlight what we are seeing today in present day America. Over this past week I have spoken to many folks about the current state of the nation. (That is what us Irish do at the holidays. We look for a reason to discuss, debate, fight and eventually hold a grudge until next Christmas and then do it all over again). I have to say I was quite astonished to listen to the opinions of many folks who are (and will remain) solid Trump supporters. From a brother in law (A very smart and politically savvy guy) who insisted to me “Trump owned the rise in the Stock market but doesn’t want to own the sudden downturn in the market”, to a good friend who told me just today “Mattis and Kelly leaving is not good…Trump needs to keep stability”. I heard another relative in her 80’s openly state that the chaos in the country isn’t good and it has her feeling anxious over where it is going”. One of my siblings told me “He needs to stop sending out tweets and being so aggressive…this does nothing to help him”. Now if solid Trump supporters are starting to openly grouse about him, where does that leave the other folks not solidly in his camp? How does this not embolden his enemies in the press and in the Democratic Party? With all due respect to my friends and family I say this “Toughen up and open your eyes to what is happening”. The press and the enemies of the President (and all freedom loving and law abiding Americans) are building soccer fields all around us hoping you don’t notice their intent. They are not honest, rather deceitful, and they are not what they seem to be. Their agenda has entered a new phase of creating as much confusion as they can, hoping to demoralize the nation. Create as much strife that one must conclude that it has be the fault of the President that this really happening. “If only he would stop tweeting!!!”

Well let us take some of these claims and really dig down deep into them. Let’s analyze the substance of them and perhaps explore other reasons, other than what is being presented. To the claim of my brother in law about the sudden fall of the market over the last couple of weeks. Since President Trump assumed office the economy has rebounded like no time in the last 30 years. We have gone from a record out of work populace to a record in work one. This can be attributed to two facts. Decreased regulation and lowering of the corporate and personal income taxes. Over a trillion dollars has been repatriated back to our shores. Companies are hiring, manufacturing has come back (Sorry Obama, Trump found the magic wand you insisted would be needed to bring it back) numbers of workers needing two or more jobs had decreased over 60 percent and corporate profits are soaring. As expected the markets shot up accordingly. So why the decrease? Well, two reasons. First it is now the end of the year and profits are usually locked in or losses accepted for tax reasons. Second we have uncertainty. The liberal press will not tell anyone that much apprehension comes from the fact we have a Democratic House of Representatives. People see these fringe lunatic House members like Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Cortez and Gerald Nadler and wonder what damage these Socialists are going to do to the economy. What are the chances the media does the proverbial deep dive into that topic? How about the effects of a failed impeachment attempt by this crowd? How about the attempts by many of the left wing Wall Street crowd that is still ticked at Trump for taking away their own inside game? Short selling anyone? Why are there so many record short positions open? (Short selling is done to depress stocks in hopes of buying them back cheaper as well as depress a market) So many factors but so little intellectual curiosity. More soccer fields….

On to my friend who really believes Mattis and Kelly leaving is a failure of the president and a bad sign for stability. When I asked her why she felt this way her answer was surprising. She believed they kept him under control. She still believes that without Kelly the White House will fall into a state of dysfunction. To that I respectfully disagree. The White House was never in a state of dysfunction any more than any other administration. You have a group of Type A personalities all vying for the ear of the President. They want their ideas to come to fruition and so competing ideas have competing battles. Is Donald Trump the first man to hire strong personalities? Is he the first President to let them battle to see what comes of it all? Of course not and it happened with Kelly there and it will continue with Kelly gone. Life goes on. In Regards to the departure of Jim “Mad Dog” Mattis this one also surprises me. What did he bring to the Military that we cannot get from other leaders? I remember the days when the same was though of General Norman Schwarzkopf and then David Petraeus. Every person can be replaced no matter how much we want to believe they can’t. Mattis was a career military man like many before him. In order to climb the ranks they must learn to play the game of politics. While Mattis is a superior military leader he is not the commander in chief and he most certainly is not skilled in the arena of what is in the National interests. Their role (As much as they don’t want to admit it) is to simply advise the President how to execute a strategy that he wants accomplished. It is NOT to drive policy. That is the job reserved for the Commander in Chief and he alone. So even though “Mad Dog” wants to resign in a hissy fit because the President decided to vacate Syria and take 2000 of our advisors out and use them elsewhere, that is his prerogative. The media doesn’t tell us that they aren’t engaged in fighting and that their replacements have already been dispatched from other nations such as Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. The President has decided that the expense and the maintaining a presence in this “Shithole country” needs to conclude. He is correct no matter how much Mattis wants to piss and moan about it. A real General would execute the strategy and not release a letter written like some lovesick school kid who was just dumped. I think his replacement will be just fine. Hockey didn’t end when Gretzky retired and the military won’t dissolve because Mattis has left the building.

Finally to the 80 plus year old relative and my sister, both concerned with the overall anxiety and level of his tweeting/ ”name calling”. I also respectfully disagree with them assigning this to the President. From his inauguration we have had manufactured outrage and crises generated almost daily. The day after he was inaugurated the nation watched a bunch of self-entitled feminists gather to scream about oppression as they clutched their Starbucks mocha lattes wearing designer clothing, all the while tweeting out on $1000 iPhones capturing every “sacred” moment of it all. Millionaire actresses huddled at political rallies, I mean award shows, sporting Louis Vuitton shoes and handbags decrying the evils of men. Howling about “White Privilege” as their children are tended to by illegal Mexican nannies. A bias media that cannot even allow the President to tend to hurricane victims without trashing Melania Trump’s Sneakers. (The same media just today going after her Timberland work boots visiting Iraq, all the while ignoring that simply God awful boot selection of Michelle Obama on her book tour, that looked like someone tattooed her legs with patterns of motor oil in the street after it rained. (Let us not even start on the cost of them ($4000). A real champion of the common folk that Michelle is!)).

This president is routinely mocked, denigrated, disrespected and plotted against at all levels of the government and the media. What should he do? I submit exactly what he is doing. Tweet away Mr. President. Tell the world what the media won’t. Report to them that Schumer, Pelosi and Clinton all supported the Wall. Tweet away that Representative Gutierrez is a racial hustler and does not have the American people’s interests at heart as he looks to increase rampant illegality at the border. Tweet away that Pelosi is perhaps the dumbest women in Congress after Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters and Alexandria Cortez. Tweet away that The Democratic Party (And the Establishment Republicans) don’t give a rat’s ass about the people of this country. Two Black school girls were gunned down last night in Chicago as a gang initiation but not a word. But we do have many words about two illegal alien children who died crossing the border at the fault of their parents. A fault the media wants to transfer to the Border patrol and of course the President. Tweet it all away Mr. President. Expose the criminality of Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Rice, The Clintons etc… and this concocted phony Russia scandal that belongs to the Democrats. Enlighten the American people to the reality of their corrupt government. Lastly Tweet away that, like the Cubans, we also play baseball and not soccer, no matter what the media tries to sell us. It’s actually our pastime. Let’s keep it that way…..
Excellent as usual Brian!!
Fantastic article. I will agree to disagree on some of your points.
Brian an excellent article! I believe you nailed it on every point! I’d like for whoever is upset that Kelly and Mathis is gone, ask themselves when their boss dies something they don’t agree with, do they give their boss their resignation! I for one am glad they are gone! If you can’t follow the Presidents agenda, move on! Also regarding the economy, I’m sure that Obama will takevcredit for this as well! Retail numbers are looking the best they have been in 6 years! All I can say is Go Trump Go!
Looking forward to your insights in the new year!!! Keep it up! I sometimes think I am going crazy because I don’t see the world in the same way it is being reported every day in the media. Thank you for the perspective.
Very inspiring and made me feel much better for my hintsvif doubt as well!!! Thank you! Very well said and written!!
