Illegal Immigration isn’t Immigration; It’s a crime

By now we’ve all been subjected to the latest disinformation campaign by the leftists and their willing accomplices in the media about this “separation of families” story at the border. The narrative being pushed is that President Trump and his administration are separating families (with absolutely no guilt on the part of the illegal aliens breaking into the country) and housing children in cages. They have taken the story to new levels of deception. Not content with falsely categorizing these folks as “Undocumented immigrants” (this is akin to referring to a person who never got a driver’s license as an undocumented automobile operator), they have stooped to a new low, about two weeks ago, circulating a photo of children in makeshift holding cells that sort of resemble cages. The issue is this photo was actually taken back when President Obama was in office, but hey why let a good lie go to waste? Why reveal the entire truth when an opportunity to continually and falsely label conservatives as racist, xenophobic or intolerant is just too good to resist. The media is more than a passive accomplice in this, but an active participant. They feel they can score political points and have no shame pushing this fraud on the American public and the watching world. It is time that the facts start to overshadow this feigned outrage that has been ramped up.

To begin with this policy of separating parents and children caught breaking into the country has been occurring for decades. It went on during the Obama years, yet not a word was ever mentioned by the usual suspects nor their accomplices in the complicit media. The fact of the matter is the parents who are breaking into the country are committing a crime. When a crime is committed, with a child(ren) in tow, the person committing the crime is apprehended and processed as a criminal. While this process is underway the child(ren), who are not criminals, are transferred to a place where they can be looked after until the parent(s) are either released or a known guardian can take them into their guardianship, safely. To listen to the howls of protest this past week one would think that Donald Trump woke up one day and ordered the Border Patrol to institute some radical new policy of separation. What is being left out of all of this discussion is that the President has advocated an innovative idea to take this entire issue off the table. That idea is the completion of an impenetrable border wall. A wall that would stop almost all illegal immigration and allow the nation to regain control of their borders and their sovereignty. The impediment to that wall has come from the usual open border crowd in the Democratic Party, who want to flood the nation with an entire new population of low skilled government dependent people, also known as future Democratic voters. They are also aided by the establishment wing of the Republican Party who are beholden to their business donors who want the steady stream of foreign workers that they can grossly underpay compared to American workers. This unholy alliance has, to date, stymied any efforts to get the wall constructed to stop this invasion of the southern border. The wall itself would end this manufactured controversy once and for all.

I would be remiss if I did not mention one serious issue in all this and that is the Catholic Bishops in this country and their morally confused comments on this subject. The issue itself is pretty clear. Don’t break the law coming here and you won’t ever have to worry about this issue. The bishops just last week injected themselves into the controversy by condemning the practice of “separation of families”. These are the same bishops who for decades have been setting up stations across the Mexican desert to supply food, water and shelter for those seeking to cross into the United State illegally. Does anyone else have an issue with these men of God helping others break the laws of our nation? Laws that are entirely moral? (If anyone doubts the morality of it all perhaps they can take a gander at the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas as they pertain to the rights of a nation to act in their own self-interests to preserve their sovereignty). When Catholic Bishops start uttering the phrase “Canonical Penalties” for those opposing illegal immigration we have a serious issue in our church. (Penalties on the level of excommunication). For me, their assistance of these folks (which includes drug mules, sex traffickers and gang members) places their own souls in jeopardy and the threat of suffering their own “Canonical Penalties”. Their willful ignorance on this has them morally culpable for the consequences they will incur. Just two days ago we also listened to Cardinal Dolan come out and accuse the administration of “Ungodly behavior” in allowing this to occur. Where was he when the same thing occurred under President Obama? He was nowhere to be found and that should speak volumes to my fellow Catholics who are having a hard time squaring this all in their consciences. This is not an issue of faith and morals but rather an issue of National security that our president swore an oath to protect and defend the nation. I guess I can say it is not a surprise we have such absurdity coming from these leftist clergy, because after all the church has been a rudderless ship since Pope Francis ascended to the Papacy. We have clergy elevating themselves to political sages while they neglect the actual moral instruction they are actually responsible for. (To be continued in a future column).

To put a bow on this, this entire episode of feigned outrage needs to be called out for the fraud that it is. It is a political hit job by the entrenched interests, using illegal aliens and their children as political pawns in their ever continuing attack on the election of this President.  The useful idiots are lining up across the spectrum to help them accomplish it. As a Catholic, it is particularly troubling to me when the men we have in positions of authority abdicate their primary responsibilities of true moral instruction and search for public approval by embracing positions contrary to the faith and doctrine they should be upholding. No one has the right to invade a country and demand that the citizens of that nation accept them and pay for them We are a nation of laws and we already have millions of our own poor and needy who need our resources. Perhaps the people who are so morally confused on this issue should look at one group in particular offering their own “moral” take on this. It is none other than Planned Parenthood! They issued a statement last Wednesday “This level of cruelty and xenophobia is immoral and Un-American. Planned Parenthood will not sit by silently while this administration continues to strip immigrants of their basic health, rights and freedoms”.   Yes you read that right, moral proclamations from the organization that murders over 300,000 babies a year, predominantly Hispanic and Black babies. (With countless millions killed over the years). Perhaps when your position is aligned with this demonic clan, your position needs to be rethought. It’s kind of like the Aryan nation issuing a moral proclamation espousing multiculturalism. There is one agenda here and it is quite clear. Their agenda has been the same since President Trump won the election and that is to delegitimize his administration by whatever means are available, up to and including deceit and propaganda. They don’t give a damn about these people. They are simply a means to their corrupt end.
